To schedule an appointment, please call 609-443-1150 and press 3 to speak with a scheduler.
Our office is open for appointments and consultations according to the following schedule. While this may change, it does so infrequently. Vacations do impact available hours, especially during the summer months. Inclement weather will occasionally force a change in office hours. If this is the case, a notice will be posted here and on our phone system. Every physician is not available at all times, however we cross-cover ourselves and, if your preferred physician is not available, one of our other Doctors or Nurse Practitioners will be glad to see you or speak with you. One of our staff is on-call at all times for emergencies when the office is closed (see 'Emergencies' below).
* Saturday hours: We have no Saturday hours during the summer. During spring & fall, we work approximately every other Saturday. During flu season, we expect to be open every Saturday, but this can vary - the most up-to-date information is shown in the Physician Schedules section below and last-minute changes (such as for weather) will appear on the Home Page. Saturday we work until finished; 1:00 PM is average, but it can range from 11 AM to 3 PM, depending upon the number of patients to be seen.
We try to see all patients on an appointment basis, and we request that you call in advance so that we may reserve time for you. We try to see all patients with acute problems on the day they call. We also make every effort to honor all time commitments and request that you extend the same courtesy to us. We attempt to run the office on schedule. We ask that you help us by arriving a few minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment time. The requirements of insurance billing and the frequency with which insurance coverage changes today necessitate that we frequently ask you to verify your insurance coverage. Coming a few minutes early allows us to complete this without delaying your visit with the physician or nurse. On occasion, emergencies will cause problems and, whenever possible, you will be fully informed if there will be any delays.
To schedule an appointment, please call 609-443-1150 and press 3. You will be connected to one of our receptionists. Appointments are available on a first-call basis during scheduled office hours. We recognize that serious problems do arise that can not wait until the next available appointment time. If you believe that this applies to you, then please inform the receptionist and we will attempt to have you seen as expeditiously as possible. For all other problems and routine appointments, we will attempt to see you at a time that fits your needs and as soon as possible. For serious problems, we will see you on the day that you call. For minor problems, we will see you within one or two days (usually the same day). For routine follow-up visits, we can usually see you within the week. For complete physicals, we can usually see you within one or two weeks, unless you have limited time or day needs, in which case the wait may be a bit longer.
For new patients with non-acute problems, we prefer that the initial visit be a complete exam. This allows us to obtain a complete history and perform a complete physical examination. This requires approximately one hour of your time. Please plan to arrive fifteen minutes prior to complete some registration and medical history paperwork. If you have a past history of any significant problems, please bring your past medical records with you so that we may review them. Any other documentation which you may have, such as blood glucose or blood pressure logs, should also be brought if you think we might need to review them. In most cases, the reports of x-rays will be adequate; we do not usually need to see the actual films. If you would like us to perform a gynecologic examination, please let us know so that adequate time can be allowed.

Emergencies |
We realize that emergencies and serious medical problems can arise at any time. If you believe that you have a life-threatening emergency, then dial 911 or make other arrangements to get to the nearest emergency room immediately. For lesser problems, please call us at 609-443-1150, press 0, and inform the receptionist of the nature of your problem. She will get a nurse or doctor to the phone immediately.
During regular office hours, emergency visits will be seen as needed. We would prefer your calling the office rather than showing up unexpectedly, so that we may attempt to rearrange our schedule for the convenience of our other patients. At the same time, if we are running behind because of an emergency, we hope that you will understand.
We try to see everyone in the office when that is possible. However, there are some problems which we are not equipped to safely and efficiently evaluate. In these circumstances, we may recommend that you proceed to the Emergency Department at the University Medical Center at Princeton. We are fortunate to have an excellent group of emergency physicians there, who are well trained to handle anything that might come through the door. They communicate their findings to us and together we make decisions regarding the management of our Emergency Department patients. If hospital admission is required, we will arrange that.
Outside of regularly scheduled office hours, there is always a physician on-call. You can reach our answering service by calling the number above. They will take a message and pass it on to the on-call physician. Your call will be returned at the earliest convenience. Non-emergency calls will be returned within one hour under most circumstances.
In the event of telephone or power problems, if you can not reach the answering service, or your problem can not wait for the physician to return your call, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room as quickly as possible.
For non-emergencies, please do not go to the Emergency Department without speaking with us first. Your insurance may not cover your visit, or may not cover it completely, if we have not approved it in advance.
Telephone Calls |
Patients are encouraged to call with any questions which they have on medical problems. However, it would be most unfair to our patients were the doctor to leave the examination room to answer every telephone call. The office staff has been trained to answer many of your questions. They will also relay your information to the doctor and your call will be returned by a physician or staff member at the earliest opportunity.
On busy days, it can be difficult for the physician to return calls between patients. Most calls are returned before and after office hours, or at lunchtime. If there is a degree of urgency to your call, or you will only be available at certain times, please be sure to mention this. The best time to call us is Monday through Friday, between 8 am and 4 pm; this maximizes the chance that your primary physician will be able to return your call the same day.
We know that no one likes the automated phone systems; we do not either. However, the volume of calls we receive makes such a system a necessity. Please bear with us. If you are calling to request a medication refill or a managed care referral, please use the automated system if possible. Even better, use the forms on this site and avoid the phone system entirely! This frees the receptionists to answer other calls and helps to keep everyone's time on hold to a minimum. Thank you for your cooperation.
Patients who cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice or fail to show up for a scheduled appointment will be assessed a fee of $25 for a 15 minute appointment and $50 for a 30 minute appointment. Patients who develop a habit of last minute cancellations or who repeatedly fail to appear for scheduled appointments may be asked to seek care elsewhere. This is an unfortunate occurrence, but we have no choice if we are to be able to accommodate the majority of our patients.
