One of the great powers of the Internet is the ability to make available large amounts of information to large numbers of people quickly and cost-effectively. As a result there are now thousands of sites disseminating medical information. Unfortunately, a great many of these exist for commercial purposes (to sell you a product or service) or to pitch a particular idea, biased or otherwise. Thus, it can be difficult to find accurate, reliable, unbiased information upon which to base medical decisions. We believe that an educated patient is a more compliant patient is a healthier patient. Therefore, we will endeavor to provide for you here a guide to some reliable and useful sites. As knowledge changes and as we learn of new sites (or the death of old ones), we will attempt to keep this list up to date. Remember though, the web is a dynamic, rapidly changing place and we do not have a lot of time to devote to this, so your help is appreciated. If you find a site you think should be included, let us know. And if you find that a listed site is no longer reliable or no longer available, please also let us know. You can send us an e-mail with any comments.
